Who are we?
The Madras Mag is an independent literary magazine. The magazine’s name is a tribute to the coastal South Indian city we work out of. Send us your best work, no matter which part of the world you are in. We publish at least one debut author each month and are committed to finding and promoting new literary voices. We also publish works of established writers and they will offer help and advice to amateurs (in the form of editing, criticism and suggestions) on this site, occasionally. The Madras Mag accepts books for reviews as well as submissions of book reviews.
We also curate literary events, organize book launches and are currently in the process of setting up an independent publishing house.
Krupa Ge, a writer and journalist, is the Founding Editor of The Madras Mag. Her short fiction has appeared in Open Road Review, Sahitya Akademi’s Indian Literature, Desi Writer’s Lounge’s Papercuts, Reading Hour, Purple Pig Lit, Blink-Ink, among various other online and print publications. She worked for leading national dailies - writing and editing - for eight years, before starting The Madras Mag.
