The Madras Mag is an independent Indian literary magazine.
We publish at least one debut author each month and are committed to finding and promoting new literary voices. We publish fiction, poetry, non-fiction, accept books for reviews, as well as submissions of book reviews.
The Madras Mag also curates literary events and organizes book launches.
About the Editors
Krupa Ge, a writer and journalist, is the Founding Editor of The Madras Mag. She worked in leading national newspapers and wrote extensively on art, culture, music, literature, etc, for eight years before starting The Madras Mag in October 2014. She was awarded the Toto-Sangam residential fellowship and was invited to attend the winter 2016 residency session of the Sangam House. She was shortlisted for a Toto Prize in Creative Writing in 2016 and was a finalist in the César Egido Serrano Foundation, Madrid’s Flash Fiction Competition Prize, 2011. Her short fiction has appeared in Indian Literature, published by Sahitya Akademi, Scroll.in, The Bombay Review, Muse India, 2014 New Asian Writing Short Story Anthology, Reading Hour and Papercuts among various print and online journals in India and abroad. Swaroop Mami, a writer, lawyer and flautist is Editor-at-large, The Madras Mag. His short fiction has appeared in various journals and as a part of an anthology published by HarperCollins India, titled Madras on my mind. His writings have also appeared in The Hindu, Sruti Magazine, SpicyIP and CricInfo. He was awarded the third prize in the Poetry with Prakriti contest, 2013.
